Notes from the President June 09

Prague, 18th April 2009
The President Paolo Pomati meets the Czech Vice-Minister of Education Mr Jakub Dürr and Mr Daniel Sobotka (Ministry of Education) to promote the entrance of Czech Republic members and to discuss the opportunity to host the 2011 Euprio Annual Conference in Prague. Good grounds have been set for both issues.

Oslo, 8th-9th May 2009
The Future Conferences Protocol Working Group, chaired by Christopher Coe (GBR) and composed by Ann-Elin Brattebø-Andersen and Ingrid Stensland (NOR), Laura Blake (GBR), Anne Fuynel and Marie-Catherine Mouchot (FRA), Sanna Holmqvist (SWE) and supervised by the President Paolo Pomati, meets in Oslo at Norwegian University Rectors’ Conference (UHR) to conclude the one-year work dedicated to the restyling of the future conferences, starting from 2010. The final document will be resented to the Steering Committee and to the General Assembly in Aveiro (POR) at the end of June.

Leuven, 2nd June 2009
The Board of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven accepts to host the official seat of Euprio in the premises of his University. After 22 years of its history, the association has got a registered office.

Brussels, 3rd June 2009
EUA announces the second meeting of Communication Professionals, specifically designed for communication specialists working for National Rectors’ Conferences across Europe and for representatives of university communication specialists. It will take place at EUA in Brussels on 1st-2nd October 2009. For more details, see the Webpage.

Paris, 5th June 2009
The President Paolo Pomati is invited by Arces (Association des Responsables de Communication de l’Enseignement Supérieur, which is the equivalent of Euprio in France) to give the keynote at their General Assembly. The President delivers a 45-minute speech, in French, over “Où va la communication universitaire européenne. Tendances et freins”.
