The Association of European Universities Public Relations and Information Officers EUPRIO was
established on 12 May 1986 in Brussels with the support of officials from the EC. The aims of EUPRIO
are:
- to promote exchange of ideas and techniques of PR and information for institutions for higher education amongst its members,
- to create a network to assist members in their tasks as professional PR and information officers within their institutions, and
- to promote the professional excellence of all members in their work.
In order to exchange ideas, best practices and to promote professional excellence the EUPRIO Award is a mean to contribute to this aim. The EUPRIO Award wants to celebrate the various developments in European Higher education. The award wants to give credit to those who are in the cutting edge of these exciting developments.
Communication work in the field of higher education are often contributing, service oriented and therefore less visible within the institution. ‘Modesty’ is sometimes one of the virtues of communication people. But it is necessary to put the ones with the good ideas, vision and work in the limelight. The EUPRIO Award exists to honor and support such people and to encourage members to write elaborate papers. Those members will deliver short presentations about best practices at the Euprio conferences and to publish these papers at the Euprio website as relevant content for the members.
